Back when we started Road Hawg Barbecue in 2001 as a part-time catering and concession operation, it was with one simple philosophy. Produce serious barbecue with a care free attitude. We wanted to bring the real, slow smoked, simple and authentic meats we’d discovered down south to Central PA, pair them with a few made-from-scratch side dishes, and have fun serving it all to our customers (who had to pay with cash) out of an 8’x15’ trailer. We both had full-time jobs and 3 teenagers to parent, so who needed more stress?

So that’s exactly what we did.

As we enter our 25th year in business, our world has changed quite a bit. The kids are grown up and we now have a popular restaurant. We’ve had dozens of employees over those 25 years, who’ve become a part of our extended Hawg family. We now take credit cards, online orders, and offer home delivery thru Door Dash. Thru it all, our original philosophy remains the same. We still use the exact same recipes we developed all those years ago, still have a limited, made from scratch menu, and still refuse to take ourselves too seriously. After all, we aren’t saving lives here….just making mouth watering food for our faithful Hawg fans!
